I was born in South Carolina and raised in Washington state. Currently, I reside in Colorado with my husband, some fish, and a neurotic dog. I also have a step-son who, in his way, acts as my art director.
I majored in Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in Denver, CO. I was the recipient of the Darrell L. Williams Scholarship in 2001 and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002 with a BFA in Illustration.
I work mainly with children's book and animal illustration in both traditional and digital media. I am also interested in licensing. I am told my work exhibits a soft and emotional appeal and someone once said that my work "moved" them, which I think is one of the best compliments anyone has ever given me.
